March 18th, 2020 – This herbal supplement is under recall due to a possible salmonella contamination.
Salmonella can cause serious and fatal infections in young children and elderly people.
When healthy people get salmonella infections, they may experience the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Abdominal Pain
- Vomitting
In rare cases, salmonella can reach a person’s blood stream and produce severe illnesses.
Organic Kudzu Root Herbal Supplement in Eugene, Oregon
This supplement comes in bags that can weigh anywhere from 4 oz. to 50 lbs. The batch under recall will have the following label: #24247-X.
If customers made an order on mountainroseherbs.com, made a purchase at the company’s retail store in Eugene, OR, or made an online or mail order between the dates of 6/17/2019 – 3/2/2020, they may be at risk. This recall affects people in all 50 states and throughout Canada.
There are currently no reports of illnesses from this supplement. This recall is a precautionary measure from the FDA. Mountain Rose Herbs found the potential contamination when testing a portion of ingredients in their inventory.
Product production is under suspension while the FDA continues their investigation.
Consumer Refunds
If you purchased the Organic Kudzu Root Herbal Supplement from Mountain Rose Herbs, the FDA urges you to not consume and return the product. If you return the product, you may be able to get a full refund.
